Coming home to Augusta means quiet streets where you
can sit on the front porch and visit with your
neighbors. Historic homes along stately tree-lined
brick streets or modern upscale homes in five new
subdivisions cater to a variety of lifestyles. Small
class sizes, several new schools and all day
kindergarten classes are just a few outstanding
qualities of
Augusta schools.
Business in Augusta is flourishing. The Augusta
Chamber has more than 175 members in the service,
retail, manufacturing and non-profit sectors.
Augusta’s historic downtown district features quaint
shops and unique attractions.
The City of Augusta has a full time
fire and police force force and maintains
a low crime rate. Electrical power is generated by a
city-owned plant and municipal trash service with
twice a week curbside pick-up. City parks offer
residents a place to relax and have fun. Children
are especially drawn to Play Park Pointe, a
phenomenal community built playground. Soccer,
baseball, softball, swimming, wrestling, and
football are just a few of
Augusta’s youth sports programs.
Each year, citizens and businesses of Augusta have
the opportunity to participate in our festival and many
special
events. Many more opportunities to be
involved with the Augusta community are available
through our many churches and organizations.
We are proud to welcome you and your family and/or
business to Augusta to be a part of what we have
worked so hard for. We know once you experience the
success of Augusta you will be at home here too. |
